［语境］We passed through some beautiful scenery on our journey through this district.

［语境］We all support his scientific research.

She has a very scientific method of dealing with political problems.
她处理政治问题的方法很科学。
［考点］scientific method科学方法；scientific farming科学种田。
1862、scold［］v. 训斥，责骂
［巧记］派生词：scolding（n.责骂; 斥责）
［语境］If I walk in with muddy boots，Dad always scolds（me）.
我的靴子上要是有泥，一进屋爸爸就骂（我）。
Don’t scold him，he is a mere child.
别责备他，他只不过是个孩子。
［考点］scold sb for sth为某事而责备某人。
1863、scope n. 范围，视野；余地，机会
［语境］Your question is beyond the scope of this book.
你所问的问题已超出了这本书的范围。
It is within my scope.
那是在我的范围之内。
［考点］in the scope of在……范围以内；give/seek scope for给予/寻求发展的机会；of wede scope广泛的，广大的；within the scope of 在……范围内。
1864、scorn v./n. 轻蔑，藐视
［巧记］派生词：scornfully（adv.轻蔑地; 藐视地）scornfulness（n.轻蔑）
［语境］The small weak child became the scorn of the class.
这个瘦小软弱的孩子成为全班嘲笑的对象。
She scorned our offers of help.
她不屑接受我们的帮助。
［考点］be a scorn to (=be the scorn of) 是...的嘲笑对象; 遭到...的鄙视 ；feel [ have] scorn for 对...表示藐视；think scorn of 藐视, 瞧不起。
1865、scrape v. 刮（掉），擦过，勉强通过
［巧记］派生词：scraper（n.刮刀; 刮削器; 刮泥板; 刮除机）
［语境］I must have scraped some of the paint off when I was parking the car.
我准是停放汽车的时候刮掉了一些油漆。
Scrape your shoes on the door mat before you come in.
进屋前先在门口擦鞋垫上擦一擦鞋子。
1866、scratch n. 搔，抓，抓痕 v. 搔，抓，扒；勾销，删除
