［语境］Please give my sincere regards to all the members of your family.

1944、singular a. 非凡的，卓越的；单数的
［巧记］派生词：singularity （n.单一; 奇异; 异常）singularly（adv.非常地, 格外地; 奇怪地, 异常地）
［语境］Myself. Used as a reflexive when we is used instead of I by a singular speaker or author, as in an editorial or a royal proclamation.
我自己我自己。当单个说话者或作者（如在报纸杂志社论或皇家声明中）用we代替I时所使用的反身代词
The noun"mouse" is singular; it is the singular form of"mice".

1952、slide v. （使）滑动n. 滑坡，滑道；滑，滑动；幻灯片
［巧记］派生词：sliding（adj滑行的; 变化的）
［语境］House values may begin to slide.

The children were taking turns on the slides in the playground.
孩子们在操场上轮流滑滑梯。
［考点］词语辨析：slide光滑的面接触，通常为加速运动。用于比喻时，表示不自主地陷入某种习惯等；slip突然的或短暂的滑动，如滑倒；鸟在天空中翱翔，小船在水面荡漾，都可以用glide表示。

［语境］This boy is very smart; he may be another Edison.

我朝盖子猛一击，就把它打开了。
［考点］at a smart pace 步伐轻快地；a smart few 相当多(的)。
1959、smell n. 气味；嗅觉
［巧记］同义词：scent odour
［语境］One smell of the rotten meat was enough!
这腐烂的肉闻一下就够受的了。
I smelt a rat when he started being so helpful!
他主动帮起忙来，我怀疑其中另有文章！
［考点］smell系常用词, 指“任何气味”, 特别强调“在嗅觉器官所产生的效果”, scent指“气味”, 尤指“香味”, odour 为较典雅和正式的词, 指“强烈的容易辨别出的气味”, 强调“气味本身的本质”, 常用于科技文体中。
1960、smile n. 微笑，笑容vi. 微笑，露出笑容
［语境］A smile often denotes pleasure and friendship.
微笑常常表示高兴和友善。
The woman in this painting has a pensive smile.
这幅画上的女人脸上露出忧郁的微笑。
